Fundraising Hockey Tournament

Fundraising Hockey Tournament

Each year some of our clinic doctors participate in a fundraising hockey tournament in Vernon. This year there were over twenty teams of doctors from all over BC.

Part of the proceeds from the tournament are donated to a worthy cause benefitting a BC community.

Last year our local Ruby Slipper Fund was the recipient of this award.

Annual Influenza Vaccinations Now Available

Annual influenza vaccinations are now available at the Gibsons Clinic. To receive your vaccine please make an appointment with our clinic nurse.

Funding for the Clinic

The treatment room at the Gibsons Clinic allows us to provide treatments not available in most family doctors offices; for example, mole removals, suturing of lacerations, phlebotomies, IV fluids, stabilization of  cardiac and respiratory problems prior to patient transfer to hospital. Funding for much of the equipment used in our treatment room has been possible through donations from members of our community. If anyone is interested in contributing to further equipment please contact our clinic manager Jacquie Cockriell or any of our doctors or nurses. At present, we are looking to fund purchase of a portable ultrasound device which would be especially helpful in managing our obstetrical patients and patients with acute abdominal pains

Sumac Place

Beginning December 03, 2012, the doctors at the Gibsons Clinic will be providing on site medical care three mornings a week for the residents of Sumac Place. Sumac Place is a new twenty four bed psychiatric Residential Care Facility in Gibsons and will accommodate residents from both on and off of the Sunshine Coast.

The doctors at the Gibsons clinic recently participated in the worldwide Movember fundraiser for prostate cancer research. Below is a picture of the docs proudly sporting their November mustaches.
